Sixers Rival Report: Nets Aren’t Moving Forward With Nerlens Noel

In this story:
Over the last week, former Philadelphia 76ers center Nerlens Noel joined the Brooklyn Nets for a tryout on a ten-day contract.
After receiving a buyout from the Detroit Pistons, Noel was expected to garner some attention from playoff contenders. Brooklyn called and, apparently, didn’t love what they saw.
According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Noel’s ten-day contract expired on Wednesday, and they did not plan to follow up with another signing involving the center.

On Thursday morning, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Nets are progressing on a deal to sign another veteran center, Moses Brown.
While Noel played for the Nets on a ten-day contract, it seems Brown could land himself a standard one-year contract to join the team for its final stretch of the regular season and a potential playoff run.
As the details are still getting ironed out, nothing is official as of yet.
With the Nets moving on, Noel will become available on the open market once again.
Considering the Sixers filled up their final roster spot with the former Miami Heat big man Dewayne Dedmon last month, the Sixers are officially out of the running for a reunion with Noel.
This season, Noel appeared in 17 games across stints with the Pistons and the Nets. In Detroit, he averaged 11 minutes on the floor over 14 games. Noel knocked down 40 percent of his shots, putting up 2.3 points per game and coming down with 2.7 rebounds per game.
During his short-lived stint with the Nets, Noel averaged 14 minutes in three games. He took just six shots from the field, with one falling successfully. While he collected three rebounds per game, his production on the glass wasn’t enough to convince Brooklyn he’s a long-term fit.
What’s next for Noel? We’ll have to wait and see.
