What’s Tyrese Maxey’s Injury Status for Sixers vs. Bucks?
Thursday’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks contains quite a few key names on the injury report for both sides.
Fortunately, Philadelphia won’t have to worry about its All-Star guard, Tyrese Maxey.
Lately, Maxey has been dealing with a concussion. Nearly two weeks back, the guard slipped and hit his head on a defender’s knee while the Sixers faced the Dallas Mavericks.
Maxey left the game to get evaluated but was cleared to return. All seemed well on the injury front for the young veteran, but that wouldn’t be the case moving forward. Heading into the Sixers’ matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, Maxey was downgraded and sent home.
After showing concussion symptoms, Maxey was placed under the NBA’s concussion protocol. For over a week’s worth of games, Maxey remained sidelined. After appearing in nine games in a row without an absence, Maxey missed four-straight games. During that time, the Sixers collected just one win.
On Tuesday night, the Sixers wrapped up a two-game stretch on the road against the New York Knicks. After beating the Knicks by six points on Sunday, the Sixers couldn’t find the same success on Tuesday, even with Maxey in the lineup.
With a 27-minute shift, Maxey scored 17 points on 43 percent shooting. He dished out four assists as well in the blowout loss against the Knicks.
The road doesn’t get much easier for the Sixers on Thursday night. Wrapping up their three-game road trip, Philly will face the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Fortunately, Maxey was left off the injury report, which deems him available for his 57th matchup of the year.
The Sixers and the Bucks will begin their battle at 8 PM ET on Thursday.
