76ers vs. Cavaliers: Cleveland Adds Two Players to Injury Report

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers will battle it out against the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time this season on Wednesday night. Initially, the Cavaliers were relatively healthy as the only players listed on the injury report were NBA G League assignees.
However, on Wednesday morning, that changed. Cleveland added two prospects to the injury report hours before the game was set to tip-off. While the Cavs’ starting lineup is expected to be intact, their reserve unit could take a hit.
The veteran guard Ricky Rubio is the first name to stand out. He’s listed as questionable due to an illness. Entering the 2022-2023 NBA season, Rubio was recovering from an ACL injury, which ended his season prematurely last year.
After missing the Cavaliers’ first 43 games, Rubio made his season debut on January 12, when the Cavaliers squared off against the Portland Trail Blazers. Since re-taking the court, Rubio has played in 14 of Cleveland’s last 17 matchups. The last time Rubio faced the Sixers was on January 29, 2021, when he was a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Along with Rubio, Cleveland’s veteran forward Cedi Osman is questionable on the injury report. According to the report, Osman is dealing with neck spasms. This season, Osman’s appeared in 58 games for the Cavs. Spending an average of 21 minutes on the court, Osman has been a key reserve for Cleveland, accounting for nine points per game while hitting on 35 percent of his threes.
Earlier in the year, Osman played for 29 minutes against the Sixers. He was a plus-8 on the floor, scoring nine points and coming down with five rebounds.
The Sixers and the Cavaliers are set to battle it out at 7:30 PM ET. on Wednesday. As of right now, both reserves’ statuses for the matchup are up in the air.
