On draft night 2020, Isaiah Joe was one of the three prospects the Philadelphia 76ers selected. While Tyrese Maxey and Paul Reed have become mainstays with the franchise, the same could not be said for the sharpshooting guard.

Joe never got much of an opportunity with the Sixers, which led to him being waived in October of 2022. He appeared in 96 games across two seasons and averaged 3.7 PPG.

After he was waived by the Sixers, Joe landed on his feet with the OKC Thunder. They decided to roll the dice on the former second-round pick, and it has paid off for them. Since being given a bigger opportunity, Joe has been able to showcase his talents.

Earlier this week, Joe made history for his performance against the Golden State Warriors. He scored a season-high 23 points on stellar 7-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Joe became only the 29th player ever to make at least seven threes in a game without a miss.

The list includes an array of elite shooters, including another former Sixer. During his time with the Utah Jazz, Georges Niang accomplished this same feat. The sharpshooting forward spent two seasons with the Sixers before moving on to the Cleveland Cavaliers

Since signing with the Thunder, Joe has blossomed into an efficient floor spacer. During his first season, he averaged 9.3 PPG while shooting 40.9% from deep on good volume. So far this year, he is averaging a career-high 9.9 PPG and is one of the top shooters in the league. His 47.1 three-point percentage is good for 15th best in the NBA this season.

Things might not have worked out for Joe in Philly, but he's managed to carve out a good role for himself with the Thunder.
