Furkan Korkmaz Reportedly Requests Trade From 76ers

In this story:
Furkan Korkmaz has requested a trade away from the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey.
The Turkish sharpshooter's request comes in the middle of a rather disappointing campaign for the five-year-veteran, who only appeared in 25 games, averaging near career lows in points per game, rebounds, and assists.
His absence from head coach Doc Rivers' lineup has been due to a multitude of reasons, including illness and different injuries throughout the first half of the season.
To put it simply, Korkmaz has fallen through the ranks in both the guard position, with Tyrese Maxey, De'Anthony Melton, and Shake Milton finding more game time, as well as the forward spot, with Georges Niang, Danuel House Jr., and Matisse Thybulle soaking up the extra minutes.
The last streak of consistent time on the court for Korkmaz came in early December, where he averaged 12 minutes, only putting up three points per game on 26 percent shooting.
Korkmaz has been in Philadelphia for the past five years after getting drafted in the late first round of the 2016 NBA draft, having made his debut a year later.
The 25-year-old has been a regular part of trade rumors as he sits on the second to last year of his $15 million contract, which he signed at the beginning of August 2021.
Daryl Morey and the Sixers' front office have until Thursday to make a move, including Korkmaz before the deadline shuts at 3:00 p.m. EST.
