Sixers Trade Rumors: Hawks Showing Interest in Matisse Thybulle

In this story:
There is certainly a market for Philadelphia 76ers veteran Matisse Thybulle. With the 2023 NBA trade deadline less than a week away, Thybulle is the most popular name from the Sixers, drawing interest in the trade market.
The thriving Sacramento Kings were the first team linked to the defensive standout. According to several reports, the Kings have an interest in potentially landing Thybulle in hopes that his defensive value helps improve their odds of making a deeper run in the playoffs.
Shortly after it was reported the Kings were interested, the Golden State Warriors were linked to Thybulle as well. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the NBA Champions like Thybulle as a defensive stopper for their squad.
A couple of days after the two Western Conference playoff contenders were labeled as interested in Thybulle, the Atlanta Hawks have joined the club. According to Marc Stein, Atlanta is a “confirmed suitor” for Thybulle.
This season, the Hawks have been in and out of the Eastern Conference’s playoff picture. Currently, they sit in eighth place with a 27-27 record. Although the Hawks landed one of the biggest prospects on the trade block over the summer in Dejounte Murray, the former Spurs standout hasn’t given Atlanta the boost the team needed.
At the moment, it’s unclear if the Sixers are all that eager to trade Thybulle away. While there hasn’t been any indication they aren’t willing to part ways with the defensive standout, their interest in moving him isn’t high enough to rush to get a deal done either.
