Okafor drawing interest from Bulls, others

Former No. 3 overall draft pick and free agent big man Jahlil Okafor worked out for four teams last week in Las Vegas, according to a report from Sean Deveney

Former No. 3 overall draft pick and free agent big man Jahlil Okafor worked out for four teams last week in Las Vegas, according to a report from Sean Deveney of the Sporting News.

Among the teams said to be interested in Okafor, per the report: The Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers, with the Miami Heat also mentioned as a possibility.

Okafor is 6-foot-11 and was originally drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 17.5 points during his rookie season, but began to fall out of favor with the organization and slid out of the rotation.

He finished last season with the Brooklyn Nets, appearing in 26 games and compiling averages of 6.4 points and 2.9 rebounds.

"He has spent the last few months working out in Miami with trainers David Alexander and Idan Ravin, fueling speculation that he could land with the Heat, especially if Miami finds a trading partner for Hassan Whiteside," Deveney reported.

While Okafor has been linked to the Bulls and Pacers, Deveney wrote, they were not among the teams he worked out in Las Vegas.
