Cavs Forward Still Battling Knee Injury, Will Miss Fourth Straight Game

Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley will be sidelined again as the team looks to close its road trip strong against the Boston Celtics.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without a key piece of their core once again on Thursday night in their rematch vs. the Boston Celtics.

Evan Mobley, who is dealing with a left knee injury, is listed as out on the team's injury report ahead of tonight's matchup with the C's. It will be Mobley's fourth consecutive game on the shelf.

The Cavs could have used Mobley on this trip, as the wine-and-gold look to come out of TD Garden with a victory to make the roadie an even split record-wise.

Defensively, Cleveland has held its own for the most part, but Boston's plethora of weapons make it difficult to guard successfully.

Thus far, Dean Wade has been spot starting for the entirety of the trip at power forward. Tristan Thompson has seen an uptick in minutes at the backup center position too. The Cavs have gone to smaller lineups as well due to Mobley's absence, sending out three-guard combinations in multiple instances to try to figure out a solution.

Competitively, Cleveland hasn't missed a beat from an effort standpoint. And for a bit of good news, the wine-and-gold got Caris LeVert back from his own knee injury on Tuesday. So at the very least, the Cavs are getting healthier and returning bodies despite the injury to one of the most important members of the Core Four.

Mobley has been paramount to the squad's success this season. He's averaging 16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 blocks in just under 34 minutes per game.
