Cleveland Cavaliers, Coca-Cola Announce Refreshment Partnership

Coca-Cola is now the Cavaliers' exclusive soft drink provider and official fan refreshment.

The next time you go to a Cleveland Cavaliers game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, you may notice a difference at the concession stands.

This is because the team has forged a refreshment partnership with Coca-Cola.

In a press release published earlier today, the Cavaliers shared that Coca-Cola is now the exclusive soft drink provider and official fan refreshment of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

According to the press release, “The multiyear partnership also includes in-venue branding and in-game activations, retail promotions, fan giveaways, a shared commitment to sustainability and several impactful community initiatives.”

Many of Coca-Cola’s beverages will be available for fans to enjoy, such as Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, DASANI bottled water, Minute Maid Lemonade, and Sprite, which will be “a centerpiece brand of the partnership.”

Sprite’s “centerpiece” status will include becoming part of both the DJ booth and player arrival wall, and an artist spotlight for fans to submit work that can be shown inside the arena.

In the team’s press release, Cavaliers Executive Vice President and CCO Shelly Cayette shared her thoughts on the partnership.

“‘We [ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages and the Cleveland Cavaliers] share a philosophy of providing unique and elevated experiences for our community, which makes this a perfect match for our collective team and fans.’” Cayette said.

This Coca-Cola partnership comes nearly 18 years after Pepsi was announced as the exclusive beverage supplier to the Cavaliers and then-named Quicken Loans Arena.

The NBA has had partnerships with both companies over the years. Coca-Cola became the NBA’s official beverage sponsor in 1986, and remained so for 28 years. Then, PepsiCo established a partnership with the NBA in 2015, which was renewed in 2021.

Cleveland’s new partnership with Coca-Cola comes just 16 days before the team’s 2023-24 home-opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
