Cavaliers Defeat Nets In Paris Game

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Brooklyn Nets in the 2024 NBA Paris Game.

One of the most highly anticipated regular season games on the NBA calendar this year was the Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets' matchup in Paris, France. The NBA continues to grow the game of basketball and the packed and star-studded crowd was one example of that.

It's exciting that the league selected the Cavs to represent them on the international stage. It was even more thrilling watching Cleveland get a big win as they defeated the Nets, 111-102.

The final score doesn't represent just how dominant this win was.

The wine and gold were in control of this one from the jump. Cleveland's largest lead climbed out to 26 points and they never allowed Brooklyn to have a lead the entire way.

Fans who came to watch Donovan Mitchell did not leave the building disappointed on Thursday evening. He finished the game with 45 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Mitchell did all of this while shooting 50% from the floor and 33% from behind the arc.

Spida's double-digit points and rebounds also represent his fourth double-double of the season.

Jarrett Allen was the other Cavalier who recorded a double-double in the win as he finished the game with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Caris LeVert was also crucial in this win scoring 21 off the bench for the Cavs. The second unit continues to be massive for Cleveland and LeVert is leading the charge.

Here are some other important notes for Cavs fans to take away from this game. Max Strus did not return after playing just six minutes. The team announced that he was dealing with "knee soreness," but there has yet to be another update on him. Tristan Thompson was ejected in the fourth quarter after being given a flagrant two-foul for an altercation with Nic Claxton.

A win is a win, but this Cavaliers group has to feel this win is a little extra special for getting it done in Paris.
