Pistons exercise team option on swingman Bullock

The Detroit Pistons are exercising their team option to bring Reggie Bullock back for next season.

According to Rod Beard of the Detroit News, the option will result in Bullock being paid $2.5 million in 2018-19.

The 27-year-old swingman averaged 11.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.9 minutes in 62 games (52 starts) for Detroit last season. The 11.3 points were two times better than his career-high, 4.5, set the previous season.

The 6-foot-7, 205-pound Bullock had an excellent season shooting the basketball. Inserted into the starting lineup Dec. 12, he put up a slash line of .489/.445/.796. His 44.5-percent mark from deep was the second-best mark in the NBA last season.

The 27-year-old, five-year veteran out of North Carolina signed a two-year deal with Detroit last summer for $5 million, the 2018-19 season being the team option the Pistons just picked up.

Bullock. who previously had played for the Clippers and the Suns before joining Detroit for the 2015-16 season, carries career averages of 5.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists, shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 40.3 percent the 3-point line and 79.8 percent from the free-throw line.
