Cavs Lite drops exhibiton vs. Bulls

John Holland came off the bench to score a game-high 23 points, but it wasn't enough as the visiting Cavaliers dropped their third straight preseason game, 118-108 to Chicago on Friday.
Holland went 8-of-12 shooting and was one of the many Cavs in uniform fighting for a roster spot. Meanwhile, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love did not make the trip, nor did some others whose spot on the team is secure.
Jordan McRae added 19 points for the Cavs (2-3 in the preseason), and Jonathan Holmes had 16 points and six rebounds. McRae entered the night as the Cavs' leading preseason scorer at 14.5 points.
While his spot on the roster does not appear in doubt, his playing time suddenly does -- as the night was highlighted by J.R. Smith's announcement that his offseason-long holdout has come to an end. Smith plays shooting guard, the same position as McRae.
Newcomer Rajon Rondo scored 20 points to lead the Bulls (2-3). Star guard Dwyane Wade, another Bulls newbie, had 11.
The Cavaliers wrap up the preseason Tuesday vs. Washington at Ohio State. Most all of the regulars, including James, are expected to play.
