On Friday, the Boston Celtics picked up a 126-97 victory over the Utah Jazz. Boston holds a 27-7 record, the best in the NBA.

Since Joe Mazzulla, recently named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for matchups played in December, was an All-Star Game bench boss for Team Giannis last season, he is ineligible to do so this year.

Multiple Celtics players are expected to earn an All-Star selection. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and Jrue Holiday are positioned within the top 10 of their respective categories in All-Star voting.

Per Inside The Celtics, Mazzulla thinks his players should pursue an All-Star selection.

“I trust our guys. I trust their character. I’m sure it’s some level of important…We shouldn’t diminish what being an All-Star brings…They should talk about it. They should try that. They should go after it. They should relish it.”

Mazzulla also said it's important they channel that in a way that’s beneficial to the team.
