Former Celtics Sharpshooter Signs with Timberwolves

In this story:
After signing Lamar Stevens to fill their 15th roster spot and Neemias Queta to their last two-way vacancy, the Boston Celtics have no more roster openings.
They could still swing a deal for Damian Lillard or make a smaller-scale move, like waiving Dalano Banton, who's on a partially guaranteed contract, to add another free agent of interest or a player who doesn't survive a roster crunch elsewhere.
While there could be more changes before the 2022-23 campaign gets underway, at a minimum, those already on the roster have the inside track to solidify their spot on the team.
But as franchises around the league apply the finishing touches before training camp arrives, the Minnesota Timberwolves have signed a familiar name to Celtics fans.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Minnesota's bringing back Matt Ryan on a two-way deal.
The six-foot-seven sharpshooter latched on with Boston during the 2021-22 campaign, though he only appeared in one game with the C's.
The former Notre Dame Fighting Irishman played 12 games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, including one where he buried a contested fadeaway corner three to force overtime in a win over the Pelicans.

After leaving the purple and gold, Ryan joined the Timberwolves, suiting up in 22 tilts. He averaged 3.4 points and drilled 38.8 percent of his 2.2 three-point attempts while logging 8.2 minutes per contest for Minnesota.
Now the White Plains, New York native, who kept his professional basketball hopes alive while working as a DoorDash delivery driver, gets to continue fulfilling his aspirations, returning for a second stint with the Timberwolves.
