For the third time in four seasons, the Boston Celtics will face off against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Jimmy Butler’s Heat defeated the Celtics in 2020, while the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown successfully avenged Boston in 2022.

Tatum commented on the Celtics’ upcoming opponent.

“A team we’re extremely familiar with,” said Tatum. “It’s our third time in four years, I think, playing them in the playoffs. And you know, they're a very well coached team. They compete with the best of them. They play hard. They defend. They make plays and they figure out a way to win games. It’s going to be fun and it’s going to be highly competitive. I’m looking forward to it. It’s the best time of year. We get to play them again. You know, it’s going to be fun and as a competitor you love the opportunity.”

Brown expressed that his team should approach their conference rival with a fresh mindset.

"Nothing about last year matters," Brown said. "I don't think Miami is thinking about last year. I think they're coming out and ready to play basketball, if anything a tone from last year. We just got to come with a great, fresh mind and execute what's in front of us. I think that's that key. I'm looking forward to it. I think it will be a great challenge."

Game 1 of the Celtics-Heat series is set for Wednesday night at 8:30 pm.
