Celtics Waive Veteran Member of Front Court

In this story:
As it currently stands, the Boston Celtics have 13 players on full-time NBA contracts and three inked to two-way deals, which is likely to experience a reshuffling after Jay Scrubb, unfortunately, tore his ACL during a practice at the Auerbach Center.
The team had two players on training camp contracts, including Lamar Stevens, who is on an Exhibit 9 deal. It's more likely than not that the former Cleveland Cavalier will earn Boston's 14th roster spot and that his contract will get converted to a non-guaranteed agreement.
However, the Celtics have moved on from the other individual on a training camp deal with them, Wenyen Gabriel, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The former Kentucky Wildcat got outplayed by Neemias Queta during the preseason, averaging 2.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per contest compared to the latter, who's produced 9.7 points and grabbed 4.7 boards in 11.5 minutes per game.
With Boston over the second apron and Gabriel not pulling off the difficult task of showcasing himself enough in limited opportunities, it would've been surprising if he made the team.
With that said, the six-foot-nine stretch-four, who's capable of bumping to defend centers, is talented enough to earn an NBA contract elsewhere.
