The Celtics were as active as any NBA team on draft night this year. They swung four deals, added multiple future second-round picks, and the selection they kept turned into Jordan Walsh.

The former Arkansas Razorback is a promising prospect, capable of immediately contributing if asked to. As Brad Stevens phrased it after the draft, "He has a special ability laterally and with his (seven-foot-two) wingspan to swallow people up defensively."

The organization's president of basketball operations also shared a promising update on Walsh's improvement as a shooter post-college, impressing his new franchise during his two workouts with them leading up to the draft.

Walsh sees the floor well and is a connector with the ability to create high-quality scoring chances for his teammates. But becoming a reliable kick-out option raises his ceiling and could lead to him developing into a starting-caliber player.

Walsh will meet with the local media for the first time on Monday. Then, Summer League practices start at the Auerbach Center on Saturday.

Last year's second-round pick, JD Davison, will join him there. According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, so will Justin Champagnie, who the Celtics signed late last season, and Kamar Baldwin, a guard for the Maine Celtics.

Three-year NBA veteran Mychal Mulder, who most recently played with the Heat; guard Jay Scrubb, a 2020 second-round pick who played for the Clippers and Magic on two-way deals; and forward Justin Bean, who averaged 10.2 points and 6.9 rebounds as a member of the Grizzlies' G League affiliate last season, will also be on Boston's Summer League team.

Per Himmelsbach, the expectation is for Aleksander Balcerowski to suit up for the Sin City Celtics. According to his report, Boston's been monitoring the 22-year-old, 7-foot-1 Polish center for several years and tried to get him on its Summer League roster last season.

Balcerowski generated 9.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for Gran Canaria last season in Liga ACB, Spain's top pro division.

Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers reports the C's have signed Vincent Valerio-Bodon to a Summer League deal. Reggie Kissoonlal, who played 18 games for the Maine Celtics last season, has also been added to Boston's roster, per Cody Taylor of Rookie Wire. The same goes for Sam Griesel, per Robin Washut of KETV, and Eugene German, per Sean Paul of Mountain West Wire.

Two players not expected to be on the Summer Celtics due to commitments to their European clubs are Boston's former second-round picks Yam Madar and Juhann Begarin.

Celtics assistant Tony Dobbins will be Boston's bench boss at Summer League, which starts for the C's on July 8.
