James Harden Not Expected to Attend 76ers Media Day

In this story:
During a recent appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer said he does not expect James Harden to attend the 76ers media day. With training camp to follow, it will be very interesting to see if Harden shows up, but Pompey is not expecting to see him on Media day.

The 76ers are holding their media day on October 2nd, and Harden is bound to be the center of discussion whether he attends or not. If he is there, Harden will be asked several questions about his trade request to the LA Clippers. If Harden does not attend, his teammates will still be asked questions about the same topic.
Media day and training camp feel like a potentially big checkpoint for the Harden situation. Does he realize suiting up for the 76ers is his best option? Does he show up and cause chaos? Does he quietly stay absent? All of these questions will receive some level of an answer following media day and the beginning of camp. As of right now, there is no official word from Harden on what he plans to do, outside of his public comments that he will never play for an organization that Daryl Morey is a part of.
Needless to say, October 2nd will be a day to watch for one reason or another.
