NBA Analyst Speaks on Ty Lue's Future With Clippers

In this story:
All of the latest reports about the Phoenix Suns moving forward in their head coaching search do not include LA Clippers head coach Ty Lue. It was widely reported that Phoenix had an interest in Lue, but that interest coincided with LA's intention to keep him, which essentially shut down the possibility of that happening.
During a recent ESPN segment, Stephen A. Smith revealed what he is hearing about Lue and the Clippers, saying both sides would be fine parting ways, but that likely won't happen until his contract expires after this upcoming season.
"[The Suns] would love to get their hands on Ty Lue, but he still has a year to go on his contract," Smith said. "From what I'm hearing out here in LA, the Clippers probably wouldn't mind him being gone, Ty Lue wouldn't mind being gone, they're just not ready to make that move right now. It's anticipated that they'll make it after this upcoming season."

The Clippers have given no signs of this being the case, with team president Lawrence Frank speaking highly of Lue, and chairman Steve Ballmer reportedly being a major fan of him. That said, things change fast in the NBA, and the Clippers could internally view this upcoming season as their last attempt at competing for a championship with this current core.
