Former Clippers Player Believes Chris Paul Should Join Lakers

In this story:
If the Washington Wizards are able to flip Chris Paul for assets, then the veteran point guard will not officially have any say in his next destination. If teams are unwilling to part with assets in a deal for Paul, and Washington agrees to buy him out, then he would then be able to choose his next destination.
In the event that Paul has the freedom to choose his next team, former LA Clippers player JJ Redick believes he should join the Los Angeles Lakers instead of the Clippers. Redick played with Paul on the Clippers, but he believes the veteran point guard would have a better opportunity to win a title with the Lakers next season.
"For me, the Lakers feel like a better fit," Redick said. "With [Chris Paul's] level of intelligence, and LeBron [James], his ability to play pick-and-roll with Anthony Davis, I just feel like if I'm Chris and I'm like 'Where gives me the best chance to potentially compete for a championship?' To me it feels like next year in particular it would be more the Lakers than the Clippers."

With the Lakers making the Western Conference Finals last season, it does feel as if they are a piece or two away from getting over the hump; however, the same could be said about the Clippers if health is granted. That is of course a major question mark, as each of the last three seasons for the Clippers have ended with one or both of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George sidelined due to injury.
