NBA Insider Admits Lakers Have Schedule Advantage Over Clippers

Year after year, the LA Clippers have one of the worst schedules in the NBA. For the last two years, it's been especially bad, and now people are starting to notice.

NBA Insiders Tim MacMahon and Brian Windhorst went on ESPN where they discussed how awful the Clippers' schedule has been the past two years, and just how much better the Lakers' schedule has been.

"But like in terms of all the like back-to-backs and three-in-four and five-in-seven, the Clippers are at or near the top of the list... which is interesting," Macmahon said.

Windhorst responded about how it was the second year in a row that this happened to the LA Clippers. The Clippers are the third tenant at the Crypto.com Arena behind the LA Kings and Los Angeles Lakers because they were the third team to sign in the arena. It's not new news that their schedule is worse than the Lakers, but Windhorst believes it's been especially awful the last two seasons.

"But it's been particularly, I think... I hope I'm not going to get in trouble for this. I can see my phone ringing. The Lakers are at the other end of the list," Windhorst said. "Well, yeah. That's-- I think it's been slightly worse the last two years in terms of the way the Clippers’ usage of CRYPTO.COM has been allocated. I think it's been slightly worse because they're on their way out. And so any 50/50 ball is go into the other direction [to the Lakers].

It makes complete sense that the Clippers get an especially awful schedule compared to the Lakers because they're both leaving the arena and the third tenant of the building. What it does show, though, is that the Clippers need their own building more than anyone in the NBA. The new journey starts once this upcoming season ends.
