When the NBA announced their new rules against star players resting, the LA Clippers immediately became the center of attention. With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George having their picture used for nearly every major headline that discussed the new policy, the two stars became the face of the NBA's new load management rules.

While both Leonard and George have rested games over the last few seasons, primarily on back-to-backs, the vast majority of their missed time has been due to legitimate injuries. In fact, even their "rest" absences on back-to-backs have been labeled injury management, since the team's medical staff did not deem them healthy enough to play on consecutive nights.

Despite this, Leonard and George have become the face of these new rules, and it's something their former teammate Patrick Beverley recently called out during an episode of his podcast.

"Why every time they show the team they show the Clippers? Every app I’ve seen it on they showed Kawhi and PG. That's f-cked up… They've just been hurt," Beverley said.

While Leonard and George have both missed games over the last few seasons that they likely could have played in, the conversation surrounding their lack of availability has become very untruthful. The vast majority of missed games for Leonard and George during their time with the Clippers have been due to legitimate injuries, and this would not even be a discussion had these injuries not occurred.
