Paul George Gives Injury Update Before Playoffs

In this story:
Clippers star Paul George is currently sidelined with a knee sprain that is expected to hold him out for at least the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Clippers will be facing the Phoenix Suns in the first round, which sets up a very difficult matchup that becomes even more difficult without George.
While most of the reporting regarding George’s injury has indicated no real possibility of him returning before the playoffs start, the star forward did give an update on his rehab during the latest episode of his podcast.
"I've been feeling better," George said. "I've been working my butt off, grinding literally every day. Six days out of the week I'm training, doing rehab. I'm gonna give it every chance I got, man. It's coming down to the wire."
While George indicated that he is giving it every chance he has to return for the playoffs, he did not mention how likely a return is at this point. As important as George is to this Clippers team, both he and the organization will do what is best for him, even if that means holding him out of round one.
It is hard to imagine the Clippers being able to defeat Phoenix without George; however, Kawhi Leonard has played as good as anybody for several months now, and could make things very interesting. Between now and game one, a lot of focus will be placed on Paul George and his rehab. As the star forward mentioned on his podcast, he is doing all he can to make a return, but there is no real update on whether or not that will occur.
