In this story:

There are 27 games left in the Hawks season and they are hoping they play a lot better after the All-Star Break than how they played leading into it.

The Hawks are 24-31 and in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference. They are heading towards a third straight year in the NBA Play-In Tournament and if they can't make a run into the playoffs and have a good showing, there are going to be plenty of trade rumors to come in the summer about this team.

So what might the Hawks's final record be at the end of the season? Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley has the Hawks finishing with a 36-46 record, which means he thinks they will finish 12-15 the rest of the way.

Here is what Buckley had to say about how he sees the rest of the season going for the Hawks:

"This could be the final few months of this iteration of the Hawks as we know it. Since reaching the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals, they've been knocked out of the first round twice and are currently clinging to the final play-in tournament invitation in the East.

They kicked around the idea of overhauling their roster ahead of the deadline, a process that even involved making All-Star guard Trae Young "available," as an Eastern Conference executive told The Ringer's Howard Beck.

Between the serious big-picture questions hanging above this club and its spotty performance to date (22nd in win percentage and net rating), there's no reason to think the Hawks are on the cusp of figuring things out. They'll play the same uneven ball down the stretch that they've played all season."

It is hard to argue with any of that.

Any time you think the Hawks are starting to play well, they show their inconsistency again and can be a frustrating team. They had a winning streak where they beat the Lakers, Suns, and Warriors, as well as playing good games vs the Clippers and the Celtics. Then they follow that up with terrible performances vs the Bulls and the Hornets.

One thing I will point out in favor of the Hawks is that they should be the healthiest they have been. Atlanta's top eight players have rarely played together this season and they should be healthy coming out of the All-Star Break.

Let's see how the rest of the season goes for the Hawks.
