Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo is arguably having the best season of his career.

And now he is starting to gain attention for it.

Adebayo made his debut in NBA.com's MVP ladder this week. He appeared ath Celtics) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder).

Adebayo is averaging a career-high 22.7 points and 10.2 rebounds for the Heat this season. He's flourished in the absence of Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro while they dealt with injuries and personal issues. This could be the year Adebayo gets some consideration, especially if the Heat keep having success.

They are on a seven-game winning streak entering Saturday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Adebayo credited Heat legend Dwyane Wade for his improved offensive play.

"I actually got it from D. Wade, which is funny. When I was on the team with D. Wade, I would always rush,” Adebayo said about his improved patience. “D. Wade pulled me to the side one day and was like, let the defense make the mistake slow down, be patient, and literally, it was just like a wake-up call for me. Obviously, the evolution of that with my game, and being more aggressive, and realizing they will make a mistake."
