The Miami Heat's connection to Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard holds strong nearly six months after the trade rumors came to a halt.

Much of the bond is because of the relationship between Heat center Bam Adebayo and Lillard. The friendship has been displayed at events like All-Star Weekend, with the most recent example taking place when Lillard was asked to name his dream NBA starting lineup.

"It would be me, LeBron [James], Steph [Curry], Kevin Durant, and I'm gonna go with Bam Adebayo," Lillard said during a Tik Tok interview with social media personality Nelson Neumann.

The selection of the Heat big man is the most surprising of the bunch because Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid are viewed as the top centers in the league. It further showcases their tie despite not ending up as teammates after an offseason of trade rumors.

The other surprise comes with the Bucks star not choosing his superstar teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo. The two-time MVP is one of the most dominant players, averaging 30.8 points and 11.2 rebounds this season. Lillard may add Antetokounmpo to the mix, given the opportunity to change his starting five.

Adebayo and Lillard's tenure as teammates has been short-lived between the latest All-Star game and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but that does not stop them from staying connected.
