Guard Josh Richardson was back in a Miami Heat uniform during the regular season for the first time since 2019.

Richardson was dealing with a preseason foot injury before making his debut Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks. He had six points on 3 of 7 shooting in 23 minutes.

"It was good," Richardson said. "I've been wanting to play for a minute. I've been itching to play to be out there with the guys. I wish we could've got a win but I think we showed good signs."

Richardson is in his second stint with the Heat after being drafted in the second round in 2015. He was involved in the trade that allowed the Heat to acquire Jimmy Butler from the Philadelphia 76ers in the summer of 2019. Since Richardson's departure, the Heat have made the Finals twice but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets

Richardson said he felt fine during Monday's fine but said he will continue to treat the sore foot. His presence is needed because the Heat are hoping he can provide depth at point guard, shooting guard and even small forward.

"I'm getting treatment," Richardson said. "I'm in there (today). I'm trying to be proactive instead of reactive."
