ESPN Analyst Jay Williams Says Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo Is Too Passive

ESPN analyst Jay Williams joined the list of those who were critical about Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo's play against the New York Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Adebayo, an All-Star this season, was the fourth-leading scorer in the Heat's loss.

"Were talking about Gabe Vincent. We're talking about Caleb Martin," Williams said. "When are we going to start making mention of Bam Adebayo. Gabe Vincent was like the start of their team (Tuesday) night. I really wonder for this franchise moving forward the question looming around, when Bam is going to become the second superstar on this team. It feels like he's just passive."

The most disappointing aspect of the performance was it came when the Heat needed it most. They were playing without injured star Jimmy Butler.

"I don't understand Jimmy Butler is not activated, you're taking 25-30 shots, Bam," Williams said. "I don't understand why we can't get him to be that aggressor."

Adebayo finished with 15 points on 5 of 10 shooting.

"I just got to play better," Adebayo said. "I feel like this game was on me and I lost it for us. I've got to be better. I played terrible. I put this one on me."
