Miami Heat Linked With Giannis Just Because It's Been That Way With Superstars Since LeBron In 2010

In this story:
The Miami Heat are always considered among the frontrunners every time an NBA superstar is considered available via free agency or trade.
It's happened with Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, John Wall, Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler and now Giannis Antetokounmpo. You might as well call it the LeBron James effect because the Heat became among the preferred destinations once they signed James and Chris Bosh in 2010.
With speculation of Antekounmpo possibly wanting to leave the Milwaukee Bucks, ESPN's Zach Lowe and Ramona Shelburne debated some potential landing spots.
Naturally, Miami was on the short list.
“Miami I’ve got," Lowe said on his "Lowe Post" podcast. "It’s just a matter of the same issue they’re facing with Dame right now. Their package is not super-duper enticing."

So why is Miami even in the discussion? Because it's Miami. There's the weather. There's no state taxes. There's the championships. And there's Pat Riley.
“The Knicks and Lakers pop to the front of my mind," Shelburne said. "And then, of course, you have to bring up the Miami Heat. That’s the team whenever there’s a star that may become available, you have to bring up Miami."
