Miami Heat Must Now Search Buyout Market After Trade Deadline Passes

The Miami Heat were unable to pull off any trades at Thursday's deadline, so they will have to test the buyout market in order to make additions.

The Heat needs include a power forward and another scorer to complement Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler. Among the several names who have been linked with the Heat are John Wall (Los Angeles Clippers), Patrick Beverley (Los Angeles Lakers), Serge Ibaka (Milwaukee Bucks) and Russell Westbrook (Lakers).

The Heat reportedly targeted Wall and Westbrook last season but failed in those attempts. Beverley was with in Miami during training camp in 2010 before being waived but has since developed into one of the league's top defenders. Ibaka is still a reliable scorer and defender despite being on the downside of his career.

At 29-24, the Heat are the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference but will need more if they are going to keep pace with the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Bucks.
