After months of waiting, the Miami Heat are getting set for their regular season opener at home against the Detroit Pistons.

It's not all good news for Miami who have multiple players sidelined.

Here’s a look at the injury report:

Heat

Highsmith, Haywood Out Injury/Illness - Left Knee; Sprain

Richardson, Josh Out Injury/Illness - Left Foot; Discomfort

Pistons

Bogdanovic, Bojan Out Injury/Illness - Right Calf; Strain

Livers, Isaiah Out Injury/Illness - Left Ankle; Sprain

Morris, Monte Out Injury/Illness - Right Quadriceps; Strain

With a weak backcourt of Richardson, Kyle Lowry, and Dru Smith, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro will take on a larger facilitating role. Last season, Miami relied on Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent to handle the playmaking.

Highsmith’s injury will allow young forwards Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. to get more minutes. He is expected to take on an elevated role this season, but we’ll have to wait until his return.

Jaquez was dealing with a groin injury during the preseason but appears ready for the Heat’s opener.

Richardson’s defensive ability is crucial against the Detroit Pistons. Without him, Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey will thrive on the offensive end.

For Detroit, losing sharpshooter Bogdanovic is the most impactful. Last season, he averaged 21.6 points on 41.1 percent shooting from three-point range.

Miami Heat Will Continue To Monitor Josh Richardson's Foot Injury
