It took Miami Heat forward Cody Zeller a few games before he was fully comfortable in a new uniform.

Zeller, who was acquired three weeks ago, is finally in a groove. He scored 13 points in the Heat's victory Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks

"I just want to bring energy when I step on the court," Zeller said. "I felt a little rusty through my first few games but I felt like I settled in."

Zeller's fast start was from more than just a production standpoint. His scoring gave coach Erik Spoelstra a chance to rest starters Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.

"It was super important," Spoelstra said. "Because that unit that was in there allowed me to give Tyler and Bam a little bit more rest in the second quarter so that they could handle those extended minutes in the second half ... Cody just really steady. He's an experienced, winning player. He can play with a lot of different guys and he complements both units well."
