Pat Riley Calls Dwyane Wade “The Greatest Player” In Miami Heat History

In this story:
Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Saturday night. Many have praised Wade, including president Pat Riley, who was the coach in the franchise’s first championship.
“As a Heat player, Dwyane is the greatest player to ever put on a uniform,” Riley said.
Wade won three championships on five Finals appearances, collecting 13 All-Star selections and three All-Defensive Team selections. His 2006 Finals performance is regarded as one of the greatest in league history. Wade is the most decorated player in franchise history. Riley appreciated LeBron James’ contributions in Miami, but shot down those claims that he accomplished more than Wade.
“Over the body of work over 17 years here in Miami, Dwayne’s the greatest player who ever played for the Heat,” Riley said. “And that’s not an insult to LeBron.”
The induction is this weekend in Springfield, Mass. Wade and Dallas Mavericks rival Dirk Nowitzki headline the induction.
