The Miami Heat not only ended the Milwaukee Bucks' season but also the tenure of their coach.

On Thursday, the Bucks announced the firing of Mike Budenholzer nearly two weeks after losing to the Heat in the first round. The Bucks were the overall No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

"The decision to make this change was very difficult," Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement. "Bud helped lead our team for five incredible seasons, to the Bucks' first title in 50 years, and into an era of sustained success. We are grateful for the culture of winning and leadership that Bud helped create in Milwaukee."

It was the second time the Heat eliminated the Bucks in the postseason, knocking them off in the second round in 2020. Budenholzer was in charge for five seasons, winning an NBA championship in 2021.
