In this story:

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro ran into problems each time he was set to participate in NBA All-Star weekend.

This time, he may finally get the chance to compete.

Herro was chosen as a participant in the 3-point contest that is part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night. The event takes place Saturday in Salt Lake City.

The question is Herro able to compete. He missed Monday's game against the Denver Nuggets because of knee soreness. It is likely Herro is there considering his first two All-Star experiences.

In 2020, he was chosen for the Rising Stars Challenge only to have an injury prevent him from participating. In 2021, he was chosen again for the game but it was canceled because of the Covid-shortened season.

After being left out of the festivities last year, Herro is obviously itching to showcase his skills in front of the All-Star audience. He is shooting 36 percent from the 3-point line this season.

Herro is the first player in the event since Duncan Robinson in 2020. Robinson was eliminated in the first round.
