Trae Young Speculation To Miami Heat, Other NBA Teams Could Cool Off If Atlanta Hawks Keep Pushing Boston Celtics

In this story:
Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young was headlined in trade rumors after a rollercoaster season, which were amplified by previous subpar playoff performances.
The Hawks may want to think twice about it because Young is changing the narrative against the Boston Celtics. After an eight-game stretch of underwhelming postseason games, the Hawks star is averaging 35 points, 12.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds in his last three.
Teams like the Miami Heat, one of the favorites to acquire Young, may have to wait for now. His 38 points and winning 3-pointer Tuesday extended the series for the Hawks, silencing his recent critics.
Young had this performance in the absence of his star teammate Dejounte Murray, who was suspended for making contact with a referee after Game 4. It was reminiscent of Young taking the Hawks to the conference finals in 2021.
“It’s just the time and situation that just shows itself,” Young said. “We’re down and it’s late in the game, our season’s on the line, so I know I gotta be more aggressive. Not saying I wasn’t aggressive the whole game, but I just think at that point I needed to just turn it up another level.”
Young brushed off the criticism while refusing to shy from the pressure of Game 6 in Atlanta.
“I’ve been owning the moment my whole life,” Young said. “I’m not afraid of it. I’ve worked too hard to be afraid of the moment.”
