Twitter Data For Hated NBA Players Shows Jimmy Butler Has Progressed Since Joining Miami Heat In 2019

In this story:
Let's go back five years for a moment.
Imagine a website releasing a poll of the NBA's 20 most hated players. Jimmy Butler is easily Top Five, right? Then he was the poster child for prima donnas, called a team cancer and coach-killer.
Now, let's return to the present. On Friday, the website Betonline.ag released its Top 20 hated players based on Twitter data collected of negative tweets the past 60 days. Butler checked in at No. 18 but that's probably because he got a lot of hate from Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls fans after dominating them in the first round and play-in tournament. The top of the list belongs to Dillon Brooks, Ja Morant, LeBron James, Draymond Green, Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving.
Butler has come a long way since challenging teammates with the Minnesota Timberwolves and falling out with the Philadelphia 76ers front office. With the exception of last year's dust-up with Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and Udonis Haslem that was quickly resolved, Butler has been everything but a villain.
