Tyler Herro Opens Up About The Difficulties Of His Involvement In Trade Rumors

In this story:
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro was at the center of trade rumors for the second straight offseason.
After three months of negotiations, superstar guard Damian Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks instead of the Heat. In a recent interview with Wes Goldberg of The Ringer, Herro opened up about the struggles of his name’s involvement.
“I thought I was out of here,” Herro said. “I damn near had my sh*t packed up. But then the summer continued to go on, and it didn’t happen.”
Herro’s statement brings light to the human aspect of the NBA. Oftentimes, fans view players as assets rather than people. Herro has felt the impact of this for multiple offseasons, which could begin to take a toll on him.
“I was happy. Ecstatic, really,” Herro said. “My family’s here, my kids, my [friends] live in Miami. Came from Milwaukee with me. Everything is in Miami.”
The concern behind Herro’s involvement is that he would return to the team disgruntled. Instead, he appears to use the situation as motivation as he enters his fifth season in the league.
Herro concluded, “I want to get myself to a place where I’m not thinking about if I’m getting traded every summer.”
