In this story:

Charlotte are 5-10 and sit 12th in the Eastern Conference

Summary

The Hornets new starting unit of Ball-Rozier-Hayward-Bridges-Williams started well with their most efficient first quarter of the season shooting 68% from the field leading by 8 after the first quarter. Terry Rozier was the standout player from the first half with 13 points 7 assists on 6/8 from the field. Unfortunately, in a bitter blow LaMelo Ball left the game with a right ankle strain halfway through the second quarter.

Charlotte battled to keep it close in the second quarter despite Miller, Washington and Williams in foul trouble. The Achilles heel for Charlotte all night were the costly turnovers which reared their ugly head, with Orlando scoring.  The Hornets capitulated in the 4th quarter, losing all organisation and ball movement.

Best of The Night - Brandon Miller Steps Up With 20 points 5 rebounds

Brandon Miller might have come off the bench but he made his presence felt. Miller had 11 points in the 3rd quarter including a pair of deep, off the dribble threes and an impressive left handed rim finish around Mo Wagner (See clip below).

Worst of The Night - LaMelo Ball Exits With Injury

LaMelo Ball was in the middle of the best stretch of his career and had steered Charlotte to consecutive wins for the first time this season. As Charlotte fans have become accustomed to, a faint dash of hope was quickly ripped away. Ball was clearly in pain and was unable to put any weight at all on his right foot as he was helped off. You can read more about the injury and see the replay HERE.

Stat of The Night - Free Throw 64%

Charlotte shot the ball poorly from the charity stripe all night long.
