After losing four of their previous six games, the Sacramento Kings went into Sunday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets needing a win. The Nets were down multiple starters, and their struggles were apparent against a determined Sacramento squad.

The Kings came out blazing on Sunday, taking a 25-point lead at halftime. While their offense was not exceptional, Sacramento's play on the defensive end won them the game by a wide margin. Even though the Nets were shorthanded, the Kings held Brooklyn to 77 points, their lowest of the season, proving their defense can be one of the best in the league on any night.

Sacramento was led by star De'Aaron Fox with 20 points, while All-NBA big man Domantas Sabonis stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 20 rebounds, and 9 assists. Star sophomore Keegan Murray chipped in 19 points and four blocks, and backup points guard Davion Mitchell dropped 12 with a team-high on-court differential of +36.

With four games remaining, the Kings sit in eighth place in the West, just one game behind the sixth-place Phoenix Suns for a guaranteed playoff bid. Sacramento's remaining schedule: at the Oklahoma City Thunder, then a home stretch against the New Orleans Pelicans, Suns, and Portland Trail Blazers.

The two teams directly ahead of the Kings are New Orleans and Phoenix, and Sacramento will get the chance to take down both of them at home before the season ends. If the Kings can close out the season undefeated, or at least with three wins, then they might slide up into the sixth spot and secure a playoff berth. Otherwise, they will be stuck in the dreaded play-in tournament.
