JaVale McGee Releases Second Episode Of Vlog From Inside The Bubble

McGee posted his second installment of “Life in the Bubble” on his YouTube channel showing his first practice and meal outside of his hotel room.

JaVale McGee opened his door at the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs in Orlando after his initial 48-hour quarantine.

“Ahhh, freedom,” McGee said in the second episode of his YouTube vlog called “Life in the Bubble.”

It was a long two days for McGee, who was able to leave his room for the first time Saturday after arriving in Orlando last Thursday for the resumed NBA season.

“This is my first step out of quarantine,” McGee said. “Been in the room the whole time reading, FaceTiming friends and family, playing Call of Duty, of course. Here you go. Leaving my door for the first time.”

McGee went on to chronicle his first day outside of his hotel room. The first person he saw in the hallway when he opened the door was Kyle Kuzma.

“Get in your room, bro,” Kuzma joked.

McGee was excited to have his first meal with his teammates. But Kuzma quickly tempered his excitement.

“There’s no food down there,” Kuzma said. “All the restaurants are locked. Our food room is a (expletive) boxed lunch.”

McGee was incredulous.

“It’s not real food?” McGee asked.

“No, it’s in a bag, bro,” Kuzma reiterated.

McGee then made his way to the elevator and said there was a touch-screen instead of buttons.

“This is a claustrophobic’s nightmare,” he said.

McGee went on to pick up his meal, which consisted of broccoli, rice and chicken in containers. He showed himself breaking apart a piece of chicken that appeared to have the consistency of rubber.

He then went outside the hotel for his first time in two days. He had to wipe off his video camera lens with his T-shirt because the humidity quickly fogged it up.

Next, he was off to practice. On the side of the court, chairs were setup six feet apart for the players.

“This is crazy. You can turn a ballroom into a [court],” McGee said. “You can do anything in this world.”

Upon seeing Anthony Davis, McGee jokingly told him that he was too close. Davis responded by running up his camera, laughing.

During practice, McGee made an alleyoop dunk from Kuzma. And in between drills, McGee, Quinn Cook and Danny Green had some fun busting out dance moves.

After practice, McGee did a Zoom interview with reporters. He was asked how he felt about his first days inside the bubble.

“I just think it’s pretty cool that we get this first day out," McGee said. "It’s our first day out of the room. Everybody is in good health, good spirits and everybody is ready to get back to it."

McGee then went back to his room and showed off his Call of Duty setup before ending episode two of the vlog.

“Day 2 down for the books,” McGee said. “I’m all good. Peace."
