Fan in Luka Doncic Lakers Jersey Trolls Mavericks Owner Courtside

In this story:
An 18-year-old fan named Nicholas Dickason was sitting next to Dallas Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont during Monday's game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Mavs.
Dickason had a Los Angeles Lakers Luka Doncic jersey on while seated next to the Mavs owner.
According to reporting from Devon Henderson of The Athletic, the fan was seated next to the owner to apologize for delivering "four-letter invectives, along with a finger, in the direction of the Mavericks’ top executive" during a prior courtside interaction.
A Tale of Two Apologies
While Dickason gave his apology, Dumont offered his own remarks regarding the Luka Doncic trade.
“Basically, Patrick was like, he feels horrible for the trade and wants to make it up to us,” Dickason told Henderson.
“That’s basically what he said. He accepted my apology for it as well.”
In the aftermath of the interaction — and Dallas' 116-114 loss to Milwaukee, despite leading by 13 points in the fourth quarter — on Tuesday, the Mavericks fired general manager Nico Harrison, the man who ultimately decided to deal Doncic to the Lakers.
The trade return for the deal was Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a first-round pick. Dumont approved the trade after Harrison convinced him that signing Doncic to a max contract extension would be a mistake due to the Slovenian's condition woes and defensive frailties.

Since the deal was made, "Fire Nico" chants have echoed throughout the arena with fans upset about losing their franchise player, who was only 25 years old at the time and had already led them to an NBA Finals.
The Mavs have started the season 3-8, only further fueling the animosity between the decision-makers and the fans.

In a letter to the fans, Dumont acknowledged that changes needed to be made after the poor start and months of disappointment for the fans.
"I understand the profound impact these difficult last several months have had," Dumont's letter said.
"Please know that I'm fully committed to the success of the Mavericks. ... Our goal is to return winning basketball to Dallas and win championships."
While Dallas seems to be going through a tough stretch, the Lakers are benefiting from Luka Doncic, who is averaging 37.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists over seven games and is in the best shape of his life following the trade.
