Mavs Ex Jalen Brunson, Lakers' Austin Reaves to Team USA for FIBA World Cup

As Dallas Mavericks fans wait to watch four-time All-NBA First Teamer Luka Doncic suit up for the Slovenian National Team in the FIBA World Cup, which starts on August 25, Team USA is set to have a handful of new faces on its roster.
According to a report from The Athletic, former Mavericks and current New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson is one of those new faces, as well as Los Angeles Lakers' Austin Reaves and Minnesota Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards.
"Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Anthony Edwards, Indiana Pacers All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves, Brooklyn Nets small forward Mikal Bridges, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson have committed to play for Team USA, league sources told The Athletic," Joe Vardon and Shams Charania wrote.
"The 12-man roster, being compiled by USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill, coach Steve Kerr and general manager Sean Ford is not yet complete, and the American team has not announced any confirmations it has received."
In his first season with the Knicks, Brunson blossomed into a star, as he averaged 24 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from deep and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line in what was a career-best year. With Brunson leading the way, the Knicks made it to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since the 2012-13 season before falling to the eighth-seeded Miami Heat.
If things break the right way in the FIBA World Cup bracket, perhaps we'll get to see Doncic face off against Brunson before it's said and done.
