CHICAGO — The NBA announced Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic as the recipient of the Western Conference Player of the Week award for games played between March 4 to March 10. Chicago Bulls wing DeMar DeRozan was the choice for the Eastern Conference.

During the week, Doncic guided the Mavs to a 2-1 record, averaging 37.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 10.7 assists, and 1.3 steals in 39.6 minutes per game. He shot 51.3 percent from the floor, 38.5 percent from 3-point range, and 90.0 on free throws.

After his latest honor, Doncic has now been named West Player of the Week three times this season, including the weeks of December 11 to December 17 and February 5 to February 11. He's now earned this honor 12 times in his NBA career, trailing only Dirk Nowitzki (16 awards) in Mavs history. Since the 2019-20 season, Doncic trails only Giannis Antetokounmpo (14 awards) among all players for Player of the Week awards.

Doncic has made a habit of making NBA history and showcased it throughout this stretch of games. He notched a 35-point triple-double in each game of the week in part of an NBA record streak of six consecutive 30-point triple-doubles, while continuing to grow his record of five straight 35-point triple-doubles.

The first performance of this span featured Doncic recording 39 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds in 43 minutes in a loss against the Indiana Pacers on March 5. He added 35 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists during the Mavs' 114-108 victory over the Miami Heat on March 7.

Doncic wrapped up the week by recording 39 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and two blocks in the Mavs' 142-124 road win over Detroit on March 9. The only player to ever achieve the figures Doncic provided in the main five categories against the Pistons a feat achieved only by Michael Jordan in regulation.

Doncic is coming off being named the Western Conference Player of the Month for games played in February, which included a seven-game streak of recording at least 30 points and 10 assists, tying the record held by Oscar Robertson and Trae Young.
