Former Pacers forward Terry Taylor to be named to his college Ring of Honor

Taylor spent two seasons with the Pacers

Former Indiana Pacers forward Terry Taylor will be named to the Ring of Honor at his alma mater, Austin Peay State University.

Taylor played for the Governors from 2017 through 2021, and he won multiple Ohio Valley Conference player of the year awards. As a senior, he averaged 21.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

That led him to the NBA, and in his first two seasons he played for the Pacers. He went from an undrafted player to someone on a two-way contract to ultimately getting a two-year standard deal thanks to his strong play.

Taylor averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game across two seasons for the blue and gold. He had many instances of effective play while in the rotation, but he was waived to facilitate a trade in February.

He was signed by the Chicago Bulls soon after, and he played in five games for the franchise down the stretch. He is currently a free agent.

Taylor will now be honored at some point during Austin Peay's 2023-24 academic season. Per a release from the school, Taylor finished his NCAA career as the Governor's  all-time scoring leader with 2,507 points, third in career rebounds (1,248), fourth in blocks (131), and first in minutes played (4,368).

13 other athletes will be named to the APSU Ring Of Honor, and the 2023-24 class will be the inaugural group for the University. Taylor's rebounding makes him a quality pro, and he may not be a free agent for much longer.
