Gradey Dick to work out for Indiana Pacers on June 15

Dick is the fifth player to have a solo workout with Indiana

The Indiana Pacers will bring in another potential lottery pick for an individual workout on June 15.

Gradey Dick, the Kansas wing who is known for his shooting and general offensive play, is set to have a solo audition for the team on Thursday. The Pacers announced the workout earlier today.

AllPacers covered Dick's fit with the blue and gold last week. What makes the 19-year old such an appealing prospect is his shooting, he drilled over 40% of his 200+ three-point attempts with the Jayhawks this past season. But he can also punish defenses who force him off of the perimeter with some two dribble moves and passes. His offensive game is impressive.

Shooting is a premium skill in the NBA. Of the top-10 teams in three-point percentage this past season, only one (Dallas) did not make the playoffs. If the Kansas native maintains his high level shooting ability at a reasonable volume in the NBA, he will be an impactful player even if none of his other skills develop much.

The wing would fit well with any team, Pacers included, because of his offensive abilities. He can lift any group on that end of the floor. The questions Dick will have to answer throughout the pre-draft process, including on Thursday, all relate to the rest of his skills.

How strong is his defense, both on and off the ball? His foot speed is fine, but Dick was often overmatched on the defensive end this past season in a way that hurt his team. He was swallowed up by screens and couldn't rotate fast enough.

And how much can he show on offense besides shooting? His handle is strong and he can create shots better than he is given credit for, but will that translate to the NBA floor? He will try to show the Pacers that he is more than just a shooter.

Dick is the fifth prospect to have a solo workout with Indiana, joining Cam Whitmore, Taylor Hendricks, Jarace Walker, and Mouhamed Gueye. ESPN projects that the Kansas wing will be selected 11th overall by the Orlando Magic.

Indiana will have to take a look at every prospect who could be a reasonable pick in the top-10, and Dick is in that group. For a team that is set on adding defense, he may not be the right pick, but getting more eyes and intel on the young forward is smart business for the blue and gold. They'll be doing their homework on Thursday.
