Indiana Pacers sign Jordan Bell, waive Pedro Bradshaw and Craig Sword
The Indiana Pacers announced a trio of transactions on Thursday, all of which had more to do with their G League program than their NBA operation.
The first two moves made by the Pacers were waiving guard Craig Sword and forward Pedro Bradshaw. The pair were signed to Exhibit 10 contracts on Tuesday, as AllPacers previously reported.
Bradshaw played for Indiana's G League affiliate team, the Mad Ants, last season. They still own his G League affiliate rights. He averaged 9.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for Fort Wayne last season.
The Mad Ants traded for Sword's affiliate rights earlier this month. He has three games of NBA experience under his belt with the Washington Wizards and will bring a defensive presence to the G League club.
Along with waiving the two players, Indiana announced that they have signed big man Jordan Bell. Bell holds five seasons of NBA experience and won a title with the Golden State Warriors in 2018.
He was previously a part of the Mad Ants. During the 2021-22 campaign, he averaged 13.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for the squad. That was his last G League stint, so his affiliate rights are already in the organization.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that Bell would sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the franchise, and AllPacers confirmed that report over the weekend. Scotto added that "Bell will be a veteran leader for Indiana's G League affiliate," so expect Bell to be waived soon as he is expected to join the Mad Ants. He may not be with Indiana for long, especially since they already have his affiliate rights and don't need him to appear in camp.
The Pacers roster now stands at 19 players. The maximum they can carry in the offseason is 21, and training camp begins early next week. Expect Indiana to make a few more end-of-roster tweaks between now and then.
