The Indiana Pacers schedule has been released, and while only 80 of the team's 82 games are known due to the in-season tournament, most of the other high-profile dates have been revealed.

For example, the team's four battles as a part of group-stage play for the In-Season tournament have been announced and can be found here. That quartet of games will have a little bit more at stake than the typical regular season game.

Eight other important games stand out among the rest, and they mostly feature additional storylines due to an opposing player.

Monday, November 6, 2024 — Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs visit Indianapolis

Number one overall pick Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs make their only trip to Indianapolis on November 6 of this year. It is a back-to-back for the Spurs, so Indianapolis-based fans will need to hope that the French rookie plays.

Wembanyama is one of the highest-rated prospects of this century. His defensive abilities are advanced for his age, and his skill and size combination is otherworldly. His first-ever battle with the Pacers is worth watching.

Saturday, January 6, 2024 — Oshae Brissett returns to Indiana with the Boston Celtics

Former Pacers forward Oshae Brissett will be back in Indianapolis on January 6. He agreed to a two-year deal with Boston earlier in the offseason.

"I was really excited," Brissett said of joining the Celtics. He spent the last three seasons with the Pacers, where he averaged 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Sunday, January 14, 2024 — The Pacers and Bruce Brown travel to see the champs

Bruce Brown, who agreed to a two-year deal with the Pacers early in free agency, will head back to Denver and face his old team, the Nuggets, on January 14. The Nuggets won the NBA Championship last season, so Brown could receive his championship ring that night.

Battling the reigning title winners is always exciting, and this game should be no exception. Brown will have a ton of extra juice, and Denver will have targets on their backs. This one should be fun.

"I don't care if I start, I don't care if I come off the bench. That's not a big thing to me," Brown said of his role with the blue and gold.

Thursday, January 25, 2024 — Reigning MVP Joel Embiid comes to Indianapolis

11 days after dueling with two-time MVP Nikola Jokic and the reigning champion Nuggets, the Pacers will host former MVP Joel Embiid.

Embiid averaged 33.1 points per game last season and grabbed double-digit boards as well. He is a monster on both ends, and he has always given the blue and gold fits. This will be a chance for the growing Pacers to get a win over a mega-talented center.

Thursday, February 1, 2024 — Pacers forward Obi Toppin returns to New York

The Pacers snagged Obi Toppin in a trade this summer, sending two second-round draft picks to New York. The young forward will get more opportunities in Indiana.

The former lottery pick averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in three seasons for the Knicks. Early in February of next year, he will return to Madison Square Garden to play in front of his old team and fans.

"Everything's going great. Everyone in the organization's very welcoming," Toppin said of the Pacers last month.

Friday, February 2, 2024 — The Sacramento Kings and Chris Duarte descend on Indianapolis

One day after Toppin has his return game, former Pacers forward Chris Duarte will have his. Indiana chose Duarte late in the lottery of the 2021 draft, but they traded the wing to the Sacramento Kings earlier in the summer.

Duarte had a very promising rookie season, but followed it up with a poor year two. He will have more chances to play in Sacramento that wouldn't have been there with the Pacers this year.

"Yes. I'm not going to lie. It was a surprise for me... I go wherever God takes me. If this is where he wants me to be, I'm happy," Duarte said of the deal last month. He averaged 10.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the blue and gold.

Every Kings vs Pacers game has some extra juice with All-Stars Domantas Sabonis and Tyrese Haliburton going against their former teams. This one will be no different, and it has the added weight of being Duarte's return to Indiana.

Thursday, February 8, 2024 — Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse

On February 8, former MVP Steph Curry and the four-time champion Warriors will be in Indianapolis. The sweet-shooting guard is a fan-favorite, and people show up early to watch his warmup.

This game is a back-to-back and the end of a road trip for Golden State, so there is a chance Curry is unavailable.

Friday, March 29, 2024 — LeBron James and the Lakers are in town

The most popular player on the planet, LeBron James, hits up Gainbridge Fieldhouse on March 29. That's pretty late in the season for a first visit.

The King has had many trips through the circle city, and he is a popular watch. That will be an exciting night for fans, and it's a Friday night with neither team on a back-to-back.
