Indiana Pacers vs Atlanta Hawks preview: Start time, where to watch, injury report, betting odds January 12

The Pacers kick off a road trip tonight

The Indiana Pacers kick off a six-game road trip tonight in Atlanta as they take on the Hawks. The Pacers are 2-0 against the Hawks this season, but they will be without star guard Tyrese Haliburton tonight.

Indiana won without Haliburton on Wednesday, but they are generally a much better team when he is available. Beating a decent Hawks squad would be a great result for the shorthanded Pacers. As it stands, Indiana is 8-2 in their last 10 games and Atlanta is 4-6.

Pacers vs Hawks Injury Report

For the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton is out with a left hamstring strain. Rookie forward Jarace Walker is also out with an upper respiratory infection. Jalen Smith (lower back soreness) is questionable, as is Aaron Nesmith (bilateral shin soreness). Kendall Brown, Oscar Tshiebwe, and Isaiah Wong are questionable on their two-way contracts.

For the Hawks, Mouhamed Gueye, De'Andre Hunter, Kit Krejci, and Wesley Matthews are out. Trae Young and Clint Capela are probable. Kobe Bufkin and Garrison Mathews are questionable.

Key Matchup

Bruce Brown vs Dejounte Murray: When the Hawks visited Indianapolis last week, Brown had an excellent game. But Murray was even better. The Hawks shooting guard finished with 30 points on 13/19 shooting in the game. He was Atlanta's best player.

Without Haliburton, Brown has stepped up for Indiana and had a few quality outings. That will be important on both ends tonight. He will need to fill up the stat sheet while trying to slow Murray, a difficult yet necessary task if Indiana is going to win.
