Indiana Pacers vs Minnesota Timberwolves preview: Start time, where to watch, injury report, betting odds March 7

The Pacers host the Timberwolves tonight

The Indiana Pacers return home from a brief road trip tonight to host the Minnesota Timberwolves. The two teams have opposite identities — the Pacers are one of the best offensive teams in the NBA while the Timberwolves own the league's top defense.

Minnesota crushed Indiana in mid-December in the only meeting between the two squads so far this season. The Twolves currently sit on top of the Western Conference and are fighting for home court advantage until the NBA Finals while the Pacers are trying to get out of a Play-In Tournament slot in the East.

Pacers vs Timberwolves Injury Report

For the Pacers, Doug McDermott is out with a right calf strain and Bennedict Mathurin is out with a right shoulder sprain. Quenton Jackson, Oscar Tshiebwe, and Isaiah Wong are questionable as a part of their two-way contracts.

For the Timberwolves, Jaylen Clark, Leonard Miller, and Karl-Anthony Towns are out. Jordan McLaughlin is questionable.

Key Matchup

Tyrese Haliburton vs Mike Conley Jr.: Conley Jr. is as steady as they come at the point guard position. He's averaging 10.2 points and 6.2 assists per game for the Wolves, and he rarely turns the ball over or makes mistakes. He's a terrific veteran.

Across from him will be Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers star who had a bounce back performance on Tuesday against the Mavericks. Indiana goes as he goes, so if he can get rolling against Conley Jr., the Pacers will at least have a chance to win. Haliburton's defense will be important, too.
